MESSAGE FROM THE SENIOR PASTOR ALFONSO SCHILDER
THEME 2010: “IT IS TIME” Ps 102:13

The ancient Greeks had two words for time “Chronos” and “Kairos”

  1. Chronos – refers to chronological or sequential time. Quantitive
  2. Kairos – signifies a time between a moment of undetermined period in which something special happens. What the special something is depends on who is using the word. Qualitive nature.

Jesus came from eternity into time. He always acted at the right appointed time. In

John 2:4. We see how he responds to his mother about the aspect of time. “Dear woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My time has not yet come” Whose time is he talking about. We need to understand and we need to make peace with the fact that there is your time, my time and God’s time.

Ecc 3:11 (KJV) “He made everything beautiful in His Time.” (Whose time?) (NLT) “He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.”

His time is the right time, the perfect time.

The Psalmist reminds the Lord of the seventy years of captivity that was over (Jeremiah prophesied it and it was fulfilled).

Psalm 102:13 “You will arise and have compassion on Zion. For It Is Time to show favour to her; the appointed time has come.”

Whose time is the Psalmist talking about?

  1. It is the Lord’s time to respond.
  2. It is Zion (Jerusalem) time to receive.

Luke 4:19 – This time of favour must be proclaimed.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed to proclaim the year (time) of the Lord’s favour”

The word Favour – “a feeling of favourable regard, an inclination to approve, bestows a privilege upon; an advantage to the benefit of someone or something; consider as a favourite.”
